Moving forward!
Apr. 19th, 2007 10:00 amI feel so relieved. My story, "Mountain King" needed to be tamed from 6k down to 5k. I started tackling it yesterday and just finished it. I feel so accomplished. I think it's resulted in a much tighter neater story, too. I've been invited to submit to a themed anthology, so that's where it's going. Now to hope that they actually accept it, too.
Tomorrow is the deadline for MZB's Sword & Sorceress 22. They put the story I subbed on hold, which is very exciting, but nerve-wracking. I keep telling myself it's an honor to just have my story put on hold, but the truth is I really really want this acceptance. *REALLY*. I don't even like to admit how much I want it, cause I'm afraid that'll jinx me for sure. So I'll start letting myself down easy: Just being considered is a plus, even if it does get rejected. (My negative self-answer: Yeah, but you still can't list "almost" on a resume!)
We're off to the coast tomorrow for another long weekend. With friends this time, so no writing time for me. And I was on such a roll, too.
