musingaloudI had one of those mad-at-the-world days. No reason for it. I just wanted to turn and snarl at anyone who happened to catch my glance. Let me tell you, those people at the gym were lucky lucky lucky today. Especially the skinny one with not an ounce of flab and the big boobs. Gym-goers, puhlease! If you want to visit with someone you haven't seen in a long while, or hell, even with your darling or best friend, please GET UP and WALK AWAY from the machine you're hogging for 10 minutes. Cause the rest of us have, you know, lives, and such. One of our friends is a cowboy -- yes, a real, live cowboy!!! By God, they still make them! -- and he gave us an electric cattle prod to use on the next door neighbor's dog, who used to try and frighten us half to death by jumping up on the back of their pool waterfall and leaning over the top of the fence and growling at us. Now barking, I could take. I'd tell him to shut up. But growling is a little bit more menacing and you know they mean business then. Of course, we never actually used the cattle prod. Even my unsympathetic husband apparently isn't that cruel. But I am tempted to ask for it again to take to the gym with me.

Well, it makes me feel better anyway, just to think of it.
Hey, in a positive note, I actually *RAN* today. I was walking the track, and hoofing it up pretty good and I decided to try my hand at a little jog. So on the back part of the track (this is an indoor track around the perimeter of the building, going around the exercise machines and the two closed-off group exercise rooms) where no one could see me (yes, I'm horribly self-conscious like that), I actually jogged! Woo Hoo, I feel all young and fit, unless I caught sight of myself reflected in a window, that is--which I was very careful to *NOT* do.
