Baking Odyssey
Dec. 19th, 2011 07:49 pmThis weekend I mixed and measured and rolled and dropped and baked and decorated cookies. For most of 2 days. I can haz rest, now? Last year my taste buds were off and I didn't take much pleasure from cookie-eating. It was so sad. But much better for my waistline. This year, I'm in trouble. The cookies taste WONDERFUL and I spend most of the day sampling. Most of the batches are in the freezer, but frosted sugar cookies don't freeze well, so they're out and now they must be eaten. *sigh* Life is rough, eh?
I was so tired last night, I felt all achy and was worried I was coming down with something. But I was fine today, so I think this getting old stuff is for the birds. Apparently I was just sore from standing and frosting and such. This is the earliest I've ever been done with my Christmas baking, so I'm feeling all relaxed and accomplished. I am going to make one more double batch of persimmon cookies because I have the persimmons, so I might as well, but those are easy to make. Now to wrap the presents after the grandboys leave tomorrow, and I am DONE and ready for Santa! Bring it on, big guy!
