Sunrise over the Pacific
Dec. 30th, 2008 03:32 pmThere always seems to be a lot of fighter jets trolling through the skies in the early morning here at the coast. Not sure if they're coming up from Vandenburg or San Diego, or over inland from Lemoore, but it must be a favorite jaunt of theirs, watching the sunrise over the Pacific. Either that, or it really is an early morning patrol up the coast for incoming or something. This morning when I got up, the sun wasn't yet peeked over the mountains, and there were four tiny jet trails tainted pink from its coming light. Now the golden blast of sun is starting to head over the hill, and the older sections of the trails have ballooned, the biggest now an incandescent gold. Then the sun blasts over the hill, settling the trails to a mundane white.
