Alive & Well in Paradise
Dec. 28th, 2008 10:46 amOver here vacationing in our little beach town, in our 5 dollar tin can with the 5 million dollar view. It was really hard to say goodbye to the grandbaby on Christmas, knowing I wouldn't be seeing the little guy for 10 days, but boy am I enjoying my leisure so far. I hope to get a lot of writing done and a lot of reading done too. I'm more than a third of the way through critting a screenplay for a friend and then I'll be moving on to
catephoenix's The Poisoned Apple (at last! & so sorry for the delay!). I really want and need to start a new story, but absolutely nothing is occurring to me at the moment, but that's okay. I have several short stories that were halted after a bare beginning, so it will be good to see if I can bring one of them to fruition.
My writing goals for next year are to continue keeping up with my daily writing streak, but to definitely up the daily wordage count and time. December goals have been lackluster to say the least and will most likely turn out to be my lowest writing outtage since I began writing 100 words daily. But that's okay. I had a busy month and was on burnout, so to just not break my 100 words a day streak was a VERY BIG DEAL. And I'll take that. I also need to get a few stories back into the submission rounds. I'm thinking I should set myself a new rule: No internet time until I first get my daily word count done.
I only have a slow dial-up over here, so while I'll be keeping up on my flist, I won't be doing a lot of commenting because loading pages is a little slooow. It occurred to me that I would probably be able to bring the DSL modem over here and plug it in (??) but I am a Good Mom, so I left it at home for Son #2 who is without internet in his new living quarters and will probably be going over to the house to use ours. I don't need to spend all that much time over here wasting away on the 'net when I should be writing. I can do all I want on dial-up. I lived with it at home for years before I took the DSL leap anyway.
Be good one and all.
