Attitude Adjustment
Aug. 2nd, 2007 06:40 amHow many times did you hear this growing up? "You need an attitude adjustment!" How many times did I say it to my own kids? Tuesday I was in serious need of an attitude adjustment.
So how nice would it be to walk into an attitude adjustment shop and ask for a tune-up? "Choke off all that bad attitude, twist the happiness gear to full throttle, put on a new hose to gratitude, cause this one's leaking. Oh yeah and while you're at it, see what you can do about this "poor me" whine at start-up that's driving me crazy.
Yeah, that would be good. In the lack of any shop thereof, I remedied the situation somewhat by cooking dinner after all, even though I swore to myself that nothing -- NOTHING!!! -- would find its way into my snotty little paws after 5 p.m. But a simple little dinner took the edge off, a little newspaper reading and some long-needed computer duties, and then it was bed at 9:15 and sound asleep by 10. And for the first time in I don't know how long, I slept 8 hours straight without waking up once.
Wish I could say the same for last night. But enough woe is me. Needless to say, I haven't had time to write. Not even edit. I had the family over for dinner last night for my mother's birthday (which was actually Tues., but I just wasn't up for it that night). This morning I have the Geek Squad coming over to network my laptop! YAY! (Hey, the installation ends up being free, so I figured I'd save myself the hassle and hours on the phone by just having them do it.) I expect to become much more productive after today. Well maybe at least do a better job of keeping up with emails. My AOL inbox in is sore need of a major clean-up.
