Stupid human tricks

I had such a scare the other night. Had a few minutes so I picked up my laptop which I now leave conveniently beside my recliner. Opened it up ... blank screen. No noise. Hmmm. I was sure I'd left it on and it should be in hibernation. Ok, maybe I did power down. Pressed the power button. Nothing. Pressed again. Nothing. Pressed again. A momentary flash of light and then black again. Yikes. Again, and quick flash of light and then black. OH NOOOOOOO! Laptop has died. And although I had just backed up all my files few days ago and hadn't done a whole lot since, I had *just* finished a revision of a story. Poo. Bad feelings. Wondering how long the silly thing would be in the shop and I would be laptop-less. (good news: my service contract is still good). Then I realize there are no lights at all. Now that's funny. The power cord is plugged in. Yes, the end of the power cord is in the socket. Then I pull up the adaptor and that end is not plugged in. WHEW!!!!!!! Without a power source, it'd been running on battery and it'd had just run down. Laptop running. Pam stupid!
