So on Sunday of this week we moved my mother into her new place at a retirement facility.  It's not assisted living, but they do have activities and 3 meals a day.  It's a *really* nice place and well kept up.  I'm hoping that getting her around people and socializing will kick start her brain into gear.  I really thought she might have had a stroke last March, as there's been a marked difference in her personality and especially her writing and reasoning ability, not to mention memory.  But the brain scan didn't turn anything up, so maybe it's just been that she hasn't been eating well and not interacting enough.  You don't use it, you lose it, you know.

So we moved her in Sunday with only the basics.  Mon. and Tues. I had the grandkiddies.  Wed. was taken up all day with Master Gardener business.  Yesterday I took her to Walmart and bought supplies.  Today my brother and niece and I went out and started throwing crap away.  And boy was there a lot of that.  My niece was a BIG help.  My brother got feeling poorly and had to leave.  But Julie and I got the bathroom and bedroom closet emptied.  Now all that's left is the little bedroom, which is full of crap, and the kitchen.  And then everything has to be hauled here and there and stored until I can do a garage sale in a couple of weeks. But at least she's settled into her new place and seems to be adapting well.  Already she's a ton more lively than she has been.  I want to rest tomorrow and not do anything, but then again, I'd love to just get it all over and done with.  And this weekend is my best chance to do that.  Next Wed., we'll go back to the coast for a long weekend and the following weekend we'll be going out of town for my best friend's daughter's wedding.

I'm exhausted.  Can I rest now?
