Our Labor Day annual camping trip went fine.  Perfect weather.  The bear stayed out of our camp and harassed the neighboring campgrounds instead.  Apparently that bear is a big ole bugger.  It knocked over the trash dumpster -- not a trash can! -- you know, the kind that a big old garbage truck has to lift because it's so huge -- in the group camp just above us over the hill.  We did have deer in the camp every night, and even this morning, too.  Telling us good-bye, I suppose.  The only bummer was this was our first camp trip without my hubby's best buddy.  They've been fishing and hunting and camping together since high school.  And we sure did miss him.  Later this month they're going to scatter his ashes up there, during deer season.

The grandbigboy turned out to be a great camper, not that we expected any different.  It wasn't his first camping trip, but his first that he was big enough to kind of run around on his own.  We had 5 boys in camp ages 3-7 and they all got along fairly well, even though the 5 year old is a big instigator and terrorizer and doesn't mind too well.  Funny, but out of all our kids in this original camp group that are now parents themselves?  All have had boys.  Next year we figure we'll have 7 little boys, as we have a 5 month old grandson and another couple has a 3 week old.

Although I took several stories in hard copy to read over and edit and revise, I regret to say I didn't even open the folder.  But I did a lot of reading.  I started and finished "Catching Fire" which is Book 2 of Suzanne Collins "Hunger Games."  And I'm about 1/3 of the way through "Mockingjay."  Loving them.
