So where have I been?  Probably most of you don't care, and that's okay, because I still like you.  ;-D  But just because I feel like I should post something, I'll tell you.  First I was on vacation for 10 days, doing pretty much absolutely nothing, errr, recharging my brain battery.  Then I came home to a flurry of catching-up-stuffs, like cleaning a filthy dirty house and laundry and garden chores and trying to revive a potted Japanese maple that was NOT happy about going without a drink for 10 days--as was a hydrangea, but it seems to have forgiven me and here's the real biggy that's going to keep me even busier for the next month or two:  my mother.

My mom is 87 and until 6 months ago, was doing great.  Then she started losing weight and interest in things.  Many things have happened since my brother and I decided to confer, but the end result is she has agreed to move into a retirement facility.  It's a very upscale type of setting, and is just basic assisted living in that meals are served there and they do come in once a week to clean and change the sheets.  We're hopeful that once she gets out of sitting home alone with just her dog for company, she'll become more social like she used to be.  We hope.  And in the process of going to the doctor to see about getting her some VA assistance for the rent, she's had tests and a problem has come up, which involves doctor appointments and what not.  I'll know more on Wed., but I'm hoping for good news.  And now I have to move her.  Oh it's so overwhelming.  I was over there for 3 hours on Sat., and barely touched part of one room, and that was mainly throwing crap away and shredding old bills from 2009.  My mother was always so organized, so it's been disconcerting, to say the least, to find bag of old bills here there and everywhere.  Thank goodness she's had auto pay for most of the bills, although we ran into a big headache with AT&T when for some reason that one went off auto pay and they stopped her cell phone service.  I don't know what happened to those bills, but I haven't run across them yet.  And then when I tried to go to the store to find out what happened, they wouldn't talk to us because she couldn't remember the last four digits of her social security number.  And I had a copy of the bill with me.  I was so mad, I was spitting.  Anyway, all settled now, but the exasperation and headache was ... superlatives are deserting me.

So, expect to see even less of me, although I'll try to get better.  I should just post a short paragraph every other day, but instead I put it off and off until then I finally sit down thinking I have nothing at all to say and then I write a huge long post which probably bores you to death.  So sorry!  Hope you have a wonderful week!
