So I'm sitting down for the first time all day except for this morning when I got my hair cut. But my house is finally completely de-Christmastized. I just hadn't been able to make myself get the tree taken down. But we did, and then packed all the boxes up into the attic and re-arranged and threw out old stuff and switched all the old tax records and now I get to spend a few hours shredding. And the floors are mopped and vaccuumed and the kitchen is clean. And dinner in the oven. And my feet and knees hurt. LOL.
My poor old crooked cat turns 16 in a few months. He's so pathetic. Every few weeks he finds a new place to sleep during the day. I have to keep him contained on some kind of blanket because his teeth are always rotten (he has very few left, I hate to have them all pulled, and I'm not even sure that would contain the problem) and he has stinky saliva so I don't want him on the furniture without something over it. So when he decides he needs a new sleeping spot, I find a blanket for him to use there. But the last few days I haven't been able to find him -- ok, I haven't exactly gone looking for him -- I just noticed he's not been in his usual spots. I finally found him yesterday. Sleeping up on top of the piles of pillows on my bed, stinking up my pillow shames and leaving his hair all over. I put a blanket over the pillows, but he keeps going up there and I keep going in and chasing him off. I wish he'd just sleep in the same spot all the time. Poor cat. He's pathetic and probably hasn't much time left. His leg/back is getting weaker -- it was damaged in his stroke 3 years ago. I think it's probably causing him pain because he doesn't walk very far without sitting down to rest, so it's probably going to come to the point of putting him down because of his pain. But I dread it, and as long as he seems content, I'm going to just let him be.
