Easter - 1; Pam - 0
Apr. 5th, 2010 08:22 amIt's official! Easter kicked my butt this year. Sat. evening found me almost in tears of exhaustion. I probably should have stopped the cookie decorating and cake baking and taken time to eat some dinner. It wasn't like I was on the go all day, either, I did take time out to chill for a few hours in the afternoon. Anyway, I'm glad it's all over. And the hub was a good guy and went out Sat. evening and rototillered the garden area and then went back out yesterday after everyone left and did one last pass and then raked up the rows for the garden. Now I have to go buy some tomato plants. The okra will have to wait until it warms up again, I think. And I had him do a small area of flowerbed that's never been used much and is really bad soil, for Hunter's garden. I'll get some mulch to work into the ground and now that it's been broken up it'll probably be fine. I think at 3, he'll get a kick out of picking out some plants to put in his garden. He loves being outside, and grandma is determined to make a gardener out of him. I think the gardening bug skips generations, and a true love of it is given to us by our grandparents. Or that's how it's been in my family, anyway.
Our lovely spring disappeared and was replaced by winter yesterday. It was cold and cloudy and today it's rainy. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if the previous couple weeks hadn't been full of gorgeous warm weather. I have a half headache and am trying to fight off a sore throat and general achyness. I think I'm going back to bed.
Tomorrow, onward and upward. Today, rest. And yoga.
