Oh What a Day
Mar. 24th, 2010 11:08 amDentist appointment this morning for a filling. Haven't had to have a filling for a few years, was a tad surprised at the amount of angst experienced once that drill whizzed on and the smell brought back horrible awful childhood fears and memories. But it all ended well enough with no pain and now I can only feel half my lip when I try to drink my coffee. And the numbness is increasing rather than decreasing, going all the way up over my ear.
And on the way home I get a frantic call from the hubby, the water sprinklers out front have been running an hour and water is going down the street and they won't shut off. This after we had problems last week getting them to come on at all, and had to have the landscaper send a guy over who replaced the controller. Then we had to call him back because the #1 sprinkler wasn't shutting off right, but he reset the controller and thought all was well. NOT! I unplugged the whole thing, tried to reset it, and still the water kept going. And going. Finally it shut off, but something is definitely wrong. Looks like we'll end up with a new, free controller in the process though, because they already replaced the other one under warranty.
And yesterday we had to get digital boxes installed from our cable provider. So much for the claims that digital tv's would be easy and trouble free and no more worry about cable boxes, etc. HAH! And the hubby is technologically disinclined, so already this morning he couldn't get the tv turned on and then it took me about 10 minutes myself to try to figure out what was wrong. Bah.
And the other reason for the mishaps? A phone call at 3:30 am saying our d-i-law is having contractions. So we jumped out of bed and drove over to their house to stay with the grandbigboy while they drove to the hospital. As of right now, Owen has still not made his appearance, but that will change in a few more hours or so. Grandbigboy is at the daycare, thank goodness, cause Grandma only got about 4 hours sleep last night and has a ton of errands to run, besides having these other problems going on.
