I almost broke my daily writing streak yesterday.  I was busy all day and then we went to visit my friend who was here from out of town.  I wanted to be home by 9:30 or 10 pm at the very latest, but it was 11 pm by the time we got home.  I thought about staying up to write my 100 words but it was cold and I was tired and not feeling very inspired so I went to bed to read and meant to hand write my 100 words.  But again, not feeling inspired.  But finally at 11:30 I got up and sat at the computer and struggled out my words.  Not sure if writing 100 words of crap just to not break a streak is a good thing or a bad thing.  But it's definitely teaching me that I don't have to "feel the muse" to write.  And that writing 100 words--even when I don't have a clue what to write--only takes about 15 minutes or so.

Last night I held in my hand a genuine Native American axe head.  The stone was soooo smooth.  The point wasn't sharp.  The grooves for the handle were there.  Made me get all muse-y with myself.  Also saw several arrow heads of differing sizes and materials.  Oh, and a genuine really old samurai sword.  The blade itself was broken.   We couldn't tell if the broken piece was in the scabbard or if it was gone.  The blade was still really sharp.  The handle was the really cool thing though.  If I'd had a camera I would have taken a picture.  Also some kind of really old knife that must have been Japanese too maybe.  Curved, so curved it was hard to draw it out of the scabbard, but a thick blade, maybe 4 inches wide.  And on the scabbard were two little slots for little teeny knives, maybe 4 inches long, not sharp at all.  Dunno what those were for.

That's it.
