Baen's Universe
Jul. 2nd, 2008 05:15 pmThe oh-so-smart Nancy Fulda has "recommended" my story "Tale-maker; Tale-spinner" to the powers-that-be, passing it up along the ladder. I'm excited. I'm thrilled. I may even not give up writing after all. Even if it ends up being a reject, this is my first "almost" or "to the next level" on a pro magazine.
Hope you all have a happy 4th of July (except you Brits, of course. You can grumble about us upstart Americans instead). We're off to the coast until Sunday morning. We're just up the hill from the pier where they set off the fireworks. In fact, the one year we went, the smoke drifted right up the road to us and about choked us outta there. We heard last year the fog came in and smothered the show, hopefully that won't happen this year. We leave early in the morning with the grandbaby. His parents are coming along later in the day. This journal will be dark until ... well I don't know. My hubby's aunt died yesterday and Sunday is the viewing and the service is Monday. So I may be off until late Monday/early Tuesday.
