Ear for Ear Justice
Mar. 28th, 2008 07:21 amThe mayor of Easter Island says he wants to rip off the ear of a Finnish tourist accused of tearing an ear from one of Easter Island's famed stone statues. The vandalized statue, shown here, is one of about 400 massive figures representing ancestors of island residents. Story and pics here.
I can only say.... What the hell is wrong with people? What would make someone chip the ear lobe off a thousands-of-years old famed statue?
(Hey Bob, what's that blob of rock sitting on top of the tv?
Oh, that's the ear lobe of a revered statue on Easter Island.
Yeah, right. You picked it up in the road. Haha, good one.
No, really. It's just the right color to go with the sofa, isn't it?)

Over the last 2 days, I clipped 1K out of a story. Whew! And it didn't even hurt, as it was an older story and I was red-faced to find all the purple-colored language floating around in there. It got the story down below 5K. Last time I did an edit on that same story, I swore I wouldn't remove one word. Guess I must be learning something, eh?
A new story idea popped in this morning. I welcomed it with a kiss and a hug and just a little bit of screaming. Oh no wait, the screaming was when I looked in the mirror. Well, anyway I'm off to write down the idea before it disappears into the nether.
