HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday.  No pressure to run out buying presents, no big media blitz.  Just a day to sit down with your nearest and dearest and share good food and blessings. 

I didn't use to like turkey and stuffing and mashed taters all that much.  What was wrong with me?  MMMMMMMMM, can't wait.  Got the turkey -- all 23 pounds of him -- defrosting in the fridge.  Most of the makings are bought.  Today is the big push to finish cleaning the house.  I've lemon-oiled most of the cabinets, just have a couple in the hallway, the doors, and the laundry room to do yet (yes I tend to be just a touch neurotic about the spic-and-span-ness -- but hey!  It's a good excuse to get it done once a year.).  The wood blinds are most likely just not going to get cleaned, unless, now that I've thought of it and realized it needs doing, I drive myself crazy and stay up til midnight tonight doing it.  Various other cleaning duties and baking await. 

But the food, well that's well worth it.  Need I say it?  Homemade pumpkin pie with LOTS of fresh homemade whipped cream.
