Happy Halloween?
Oct. 31st, 2007 08:11 amI don't have much to report so I won't bore you with my boring life. I just felt I should post something--anything. So I am.
I received word yesterday that a short story I subbed to ASIM has gone on to second round. This, after receiving an email the previous day that the entry had been received but due to internet problems, I was just now receiving my sub number and acknowledgment. Then there followed a mild hand-slapping that I had addressed the email to someone who has never worked at ASIM. I really have no idea where I got that name from. I should google it to find out. But since I have a habit of copying old sub cover letters into new ones, I'm quite sure that the chap works elsewhere and I should have fixed it before I hit that SEND button. Yikes. I think I'm lucky they didn't toss my sub out with the dirty bath water and write in a file somewhere: "Never accept a sub from this idiot again!!!!"
Must. be. more. careful.
Grandbaby is crawling! Ah, yes, the fun begins. Of course he "forgets" how if he wants to be picked up. But if it's something he's NOT supposed to get into, such as electrical cords or the cat, then he can get across the room before you turn around.
There's an email going around with pictures of the Southern California fires. You may have seen them, and then again, it may be purely a California thing. But since I've never tried posting pics, I thought I'd try posting a couple. I never realized before how scary a fire can be nor how brave firefighters. They stand there and face something that most of us would turn and run away from.
