It's a real phobia! Whew, do I feel better now!.

Telephonophobia: Fear of telephones

Although I wouldn't actually call it a *fear*, cause I don't get all shaky and have a panic attack. It's more something that I avoid as much as possible. And that's why I find myself in this situation today: I have to make EIGHT (count them, yes, EIGHT!!!) phone calls today. If you don't get a quiver when you read that, it means you do NOT have Telephonophobia, and will just have to trust me that this is a major undertaking today. Hmmm... undertaking --- death.... yep!

Several are concerning insurance and medical bills that I discovered last night while paying bills. The others are ones that I've put off making as long as I can and now have to do them. Cancellations on movie clubs, harmless queries about this or that -- why do I hate them so much. I think it's that lack of face-to-face contact where I can take visual clues about the person I'm talking to. Maybe it all has to do with being a visual-type person rather than an auditory-type. Maybe as usual I over-analyze and it's just my damn shyness -- I'm forced to speak when on the phone.

For those of you with nothing better to do, an amusing test that turns out to be oh-so accurate! My father was born in Texas and lived there until his late teens, so yes, I am half-Texan! :-)

You Are 44% Texas

At first, you seem Texan... but just because a chicken has wings don't mean it can fly.
