ZZZZzzzzzz!

Have you ever felt so tired, so utterly exhausted, that keeping your eyes open actually *hurts*? And trying to put a thought together? Forget it.

This is the second day in a row. Yesterday I had a good reason: we got up at 4:30 a.m. (and I hadn't gone to sleep until 11:30 the night before.) But 5 hours sleep can be pretty typical for me these days, and it doesn't bother me the next day. I was doing all right today until about a half hour ago. I've been feverishly trying to finish a story and I'm just almost there. Just a few hundred words and it's done. And it's gotta be done by Friday. And I have a meeting tomorrow morning and then Thurs. I start baby-sitting. So I really need to finish it today. Really.

Dunno if I can. Need. sleep.

BUt then yesterday I felt like this about this same time and by the time I got up to make dinner, I hit a second wind and ended up staying up til 11:30 (when I'd every intention of going to bed by 9:00) writing. So I'm hoping that happens again.

And then there's that matter of critting HB for [livejournal.com profile] mylefteye!

Oh! [livejournal.com profile] aliettedb recommended "Hotel Astarte" by M.K. Hobson in the June RoF issue. Wow. The language was so beautiful, I nearly wept in admiration and jealousy. Every sentence was a work of art. That's my aspiration.
