Dreams!

This, according to my dream logic - Sprinkling salt down the length of a rattlesnake -- even though it will cause the snake to shrink to about 10% its size -- will not cause it to fizzle up and die like a snail.  But it will cause it to go wild, chasing small children, and giving you a nasty bite on the hand which will cause you to wake up screaming!
