I've been thinking about music lately and how it touches everyone in a different way.  There are certain types of voices and harmonies that resonate for me.  For instance, Lady Antebellum.  Those voices are a good match for me, and when they hit certain notes, especially if they're harmonized, it almost creates a thrumming inside centered at my breastbone.  It's a very physical sensation, where I imagine myself as a tuning fork that vibrates to certain tones.  By the same token, there are other tones of voices that are like nails on a chalkboard to me.  I know this is a purely personal taste, as I can name one singer (but won't) whom I do not care for AT ALL -- and yet he/she has won multiple grammys and other awards, so obviously everyone else likes him/her just fine.  Anyone else feel that way about music?  I know lots of writers write with music in the background, and even have certain playlists for different stories.  But I can't write with music on because it distracts me too much.  Of course, I'm still at the point where I let anything distract me when the going gets tough, so hay, maybe I *should* try writing with music.  It certainly couldn't hurt at this point.

This will be my last post until the weekend.  On Tuesday, we leave for Disneyland with our almost 5-yr-old grandson.  Now after weeks of not a single drop of rain or bad weather, despite the fact that we're supposed to be in the midst of winter, rain is suddenly on the forecast for Tues.  Oh well, we need the rain, and I'll take rain gear and we'll just dash from ride to ride.
